Our outdoor setting provides much a needed safe space where children can play and run free.

Peaceful field with a green yurt and blue shed. Tyres and colourful flags on poles. Green grass and vibrant flowers in the foreground.

Respite from the modern world

A big part of our nature education happens at Little Acorns, our outdoor setting. It's a peaceful 2.5 acre site near Wickham, comprising of two meadows, yurt, cabin and stable block (with loos, and a wood burner for chilly days!) We share Little Acorns with our extended family of sheep, goats, miniature donkeys, chickens and ducks.

Our animals are a big part of life at Little Acorns and spending time with them in our rural setting provides a wonderful respite from the modern world. Here children can run free, play on the climbing equipment, feed and pet the animals, grow and harvest fruit and veg, enjoy camp fires and forage for ingredients to use in the mud kitchen. The list of open-ended free play activities the children can enjoy here really is endless.

Healing nature

Our nursery children visit Little Acorns on a regular basis so they can experience the joy and freedom of a natural environment where time melts away at the child's own pace. We feel it is important to provide our children with a space where they are completely free to do as much or as little as they like. They are able to roam our site freely and take part in seasonal crafts as well as learning more about cookery and forest skills such as chopping wood, lighting fires and building shelters.

Available to hire

Little Acorns is available to use for children's parties, corporate and family events as well as day-trips for schools and alternative provision providers.
